Target's Brand Crease Brush Review

The first brush set I ever had was a gift from my grandmother and the brushes, while good quality and lasted me years, were not designed to help you achieve beautiful eyes. I was in desperate need of a crease brush. I looked on Sephora, Mac, Sigma, Ulta hoping to find a great crease brush. However, because of my very tight budget I wasn't ready to shell out the cash for those crease brushes. I am one of those girls who hunts for bargain and brags about getting good deals. If I had the math skills I would probably be on that TLC show Extreme Couponing. So when I was on one of my rare shopping trips to Target and I spotted a crease brush for $1.99 I jumped on it. Of course I knew that buying a brush that cheap meant that it more than likely was going to be $1.99 quality. But I figured I could find a way to work around it. So I bought it. All the way home all I was dying to do was go to my makeup collection and give it a try. My friend Brad who went shopping with me thought I had lost my mind. When I got home it was the first thing I pulled out of my bag and walked over to my collection and started to test it. I was absolutely floored with how poor of a brush it was. It hardly picked up any color. It took me twice as long to get the same look with this crease brush as it did with my cheap Walmart brand Christmas gift set of brushes that didn't include a crease brush. I was so upset. I was willing to work with poorer quality but this was just ridiculous. However, I did find a use for it. I had paid good money and refused to just toss it to the side. It may not be a dream come true crease brush but it does do a very good job with blending. All in all I wouldn't recommend this brush to anyone, not even beginners, for a crease brush. Although, if you're looking for a cheap blending brush go ahead and give this a try.

Sonia Kashuk Tightly Knit Brush Set Review

I bought these brushes months ago to replace a cheap brush set that my grandmother had bought me for Christmas years ago that had started to fall apart on me. I was lucky enough to find these brushes on sale at Target for $12.99 or something like that. This set normally retails for $24.99. I was a little hesitant about this set because the crease brush looked differently than any other crease brush I had seen before. The shape of the brush is more rounded than the pointed fluffy crease brushes I was used to. However, I gave it a fair shot and was very pleasantly surprised. All of the brushes are very soft and pick up color easily. You don't have to rub the brush into the product for the color to transfer. The brushes are great for blending. If you're trying to achieve a neutral eye you don't have to worry about the brushes depositing makeup on your eye on one spot and just leaving it there. The colors will blend. The only down fall I did have with these brushes was the head of the crease brush did fall off. However, for the price and the great looks I was achieving with this set putting some crazy glue on the brush to make it worth was well worth it. If I had thought about it while the brushes were still on sale I would have picked up another set to have just in case I lost a brush or something. Definitely worth a repurchase and a recommendation.
