My Biggest Beauty Secret EVER!

Yep that's right people. It's Vaseline. I absolutely love this stuff. And now that its got a pop top that's connected to the jar, it's even better. I'm sure a lot of you use this as a cheap lip balm, as do I. One small jar will last you forever if that's all you use it for. I however, have some different uses for Vaseline. I use it as my eye cream at night. Why not? It's thick, incredibly moisturizing, and cheap. You can't go wrong there. I know it doesn't have any thing to help dark circles so I do have to use a separate eye cream to treat that problem in the morning but I don't mind. I also like to use this as a whole face moisturizer at night when my skin starts to drying out, I actually did this last night! I don't know why, maybe it's because my skin is getting older or maybe it's because of the cold weather, but I am having some major dry skin on my cheek bones. I have tried every normal think moisturizer out there trying to sooth my skin but nothing was working. So I just slathered some of this on in a final attempt to sooth my skin. I woke up this morning with the Vaseline still in place, I washed it off, then exfoliated to get rid of any dry skin that couldn't be saved, then put on a thick day moisturizer. I put my makeup on and there isn't one sign of dry skin and I couldn't be happier. This may just have to become my nightly routine for the winter.

D.I.Y. Coconut Oil Moisturizer

Now that the colder months are here I know that dry skin is a major concern. I know myself personally this year is suffering from some dry skin on my chin and on my cheek bones. What I have here today is a great D.I.Y. nightly moisturizer using coconut oil and a few drops of vitamin E oil. All you do is take equal parts coconut oil and vitamin E oil (just a few drops each) and mix them together. I wouldn't put this on in the morning just because this is a very oily moisturizer and I don't think any makeup that you would apply on top of it would last very long, even with primers. However, if you suffer seasonal dry skin or even year round dry skin this would be a great nightly treatment. Both coconut oil and vitamin E oil are very hydrating and healthy for your skin. You could even use this for patches of dry skin, I have those in the warmer months. I will say that you want to use extra virgin coconut oil because that means it is processed the least and will have the most bang for your buck. Coconut oil and vitamin E oil are very easy to come by. You should be able to find them in your local health food store. Or if you're like me and you live south of nowhere there are several places online that you can order from. I hope this was helpful and enjoy!
